jaguar 265 with opel LHD bellhousing. this uses ford clutch, standard manta drive shaft fits perfect.

1.8 manta gearbox 240, cut off bellhousing and alloyweld to back plate. ( I had some made by laser cut) weld bellhousing on to back plate when all bolted together for alignment. done it twice now no problem.
1.8 four speed bellhousing rare but can be used as said above.

three types of 265 gearbox input shaft.

Monza has manta clutch plate spline pattern.

jaguar has ford spine for clutch.

BMW has very course spline for BMW clutch.

getrag 265 approx. 5cm longer if I remember correctly. opel Monza bellhousing perfect 240 clutch fork fits also propshaft fits same. gearstick needs modifying to suit a series. power wise much better.
jaguar 265 lots cheaper usually but no speedo drive. early jaguar ones have speedo drive. Monza has speedo drive. also lotus elan s11 has 265 gearbox.

use a uk exhaust y piece fits good.

if only standard differential ( no LSD) put LUCAS oil additive in works great.

very nice ascona. changed mine from green to opel blue. hope to see you all next year at dutch and german shows.

rear axle is Salisbury 4ha with jaguar power loc LSD fitted. will take 500bhp and 400lbs torque.
gearbox is jaguar 265 from xj40 3.8 should take 160bhp easy.
drive shaft is jaguar/scimitar power not a problem.
only problem not enough power so have 2.2 full race engine 200bhp built soon .

clutch is full race 240mm.
gearbox no modification to fit 265 in ascona a. fabricated crossmember in garage.

audi 80 2.0 16v discs 1995-97 machine to same as manta/ascona disc. use opel kadett 2.0 16v 1992-96 ATE calipers. very good brakes but must be 14 wheels.
